Quarantine Scared Me!
I was skimming through the movie channels on my directtv packages, and came across one called "Quarantine."
It looked like I was going to be stuck watching this one, because I am a huge zombie fan. The movie was shot from the perspective of the cameraman, who is a character in the movie. The journalistic approach gives the movie a sense of a reality show effect, and that is just fine with me. I think we all have had some influence from reality television, and it was good to see that it was represented in today's cinema this way. Instead of looking cheesy, the gore in this movie was super-realistic.
Blood around every corner that you look. In the beginning, you follow a video journalist while she interviews fire fighters. She goes on a call with them, only to find that they all are responding to a virus contamination site. Before they can get out, they all start becoming infected as well. No matter what happens throughout the movie, the characters manage to keep the camera rolling the whole time.
This was meant to leave a video journal of their experiences, and the movie is, supposedly, what was discovered afterward. This movie was definitely not for kids, and should only be seen by adults that do not mind detailed gore and extreme violence. I also read somewhere that this movie was a remake of another film from another country. I'd be interested in finding out what that movie was called too, and watching it also.
If you are a fan of zombie movies, then this will be on your favorite list for years to come as well. Don't take my word for it, check it out and let me know when you find out of the sequel's release!
